MyTime Young Carers

At The Unique Group, we are proud to announce that we are official charity partners with MYTIME Young Carers

Who Are MYTIME Young Carers?

Did you know that an estimated 700,000 young carers are living in the UK? Young carers carry huge responsibilities that impact their opportunities, education, physical and mental wellness, and social engagement.

Young carers are children and young people under the age of 18 who provide regular and ongoing care and support to a family member who has a disability, mental health issue, chronic condition, or substance misuse problem. MYTIME Young Carers is an organisation that provides support for these young people. They offer practical help, advice, and guidance to ensure that young carers can continue to provide care while also taking time out for themselves. They also run activities and events to help young carers build resilience, develop new skills, and make friends. MyTime Young Carers is committed to making sure that all young carers have access to the best possible support.

Why are we working with them?

Towards the end of 2022, we ran a vote for all internal staff to see what charities they wanted to become official partners with for 2023. It was great to see so many members of our team so enthusiastic and keen to help support such great causes. Following the results of our poll, MYTIME Young Carers was the clear winner. We invited them down to our HQ, and so began our mutually beneficial partnership.

How are we going to support them?

Throughout 2023, we will be working closely to raise awareness for young carers across Dorset and beyond. As a company, we will be hosting many fundraising events to help raise funds to support such an incredible cause. These funds will support young carers within schools; offering them incredible days out and experiences; and mentoring young adult carers to help them achieve their educational and career goals past the age of 18.

On top of raising funds, we want to help provide young carers with work experience, apprenticeships, and opportunities that they would otherwise struggle to receive.

We are both looking forward to what we have planned for 2023!
