Zone Chart Regulations

Following the recommendations of the Fire Alarm British Standards, it is now mandatory to have an updated, clear and accurate Fire Alarm Zone Chart to go alongside your Fire Alarm Control Panel.

Zone Charts are required to assist anyone responding to a fire alarm. Their aim is to quickly identify the correct location in the building and to help the Fire Brigade know the building layout before they enter.

When having a Fire Alarm System is installed, the building is divided into Fire Zones. Any Manual Call Point or Fire Detector that is installed, when set off, will trigger that specific zone.

The Zone Chart shows the separation of each zone throughout the premises with a ‘You are Here’ arrow to identify where the Fire Alarm Panel is fitted. The view of the building should be orientated in relation to the Fire Alarm Panel position.

We’re proud to be the ones trusted by families, businesses, and academies across Dorset and Hampshire. It’s this pride in service and what we do that separates us from the rest. Using the latest tech at the best possible price.
